Collaboration

I dug up some old artwork yesterday. This one was the start of a children's book, unfortunately I never found a writer to collaborate with and the book has been in a box since then. What can I say the internet was different then; writers didn't roam freely expounding ideas into the wind, blogs weren't on every corner and you had to be careful who you spoke to lest they jump out from under a bridge and ask you what you were wearing (shudder). So here's the first illustration... anyone want to write the first paragraph? How about just a poem? Just a single word? What have you got internet?

Chapter One
Judy was a Princess, and lived in a castle with her Mom & Dad, the Queen and King. The Castle was built right on the ocean shore and Judy loved to play games with the Mermaids. One day the Mermaids taught Judy a game called "Tickle the Clam".

When the King found Judy playing this game with the Mermaids, the chambermaids, and the milkmaids, he flew into a rage and locked Judy in the highest tower. But Judy didn't care, because she could play the new game by herself.

Chapter Two
The Queen told the King that Judy was nearly old enough to get married, and maybe if there were a good Knight for Judy to take care of, she would not want to play with the Mermaids any more.

So the King sent his messengers far and wide across the land, looking for a suitable Knight to take Judy's hand in marriage. A tournament would be held, and the winner would be eligible for becoming Judy's suitor.

Chapter Three

Take it away, Bloggies!

Shoulung you are warped, I can’t decide weather to delete or laugh. It’s a good thing you’re my favorite creepy guy. And I am totally NOT illustrating the game for you.

PS I'm wearing flannel PJs and a Green Bay Packers sweat shirt.

Oh, it's cute, quaint, only semi-lewd, and I left it open for the story to go in any direction. The winner doesn't get the Princess's hand afterall, he's only "eligible". And it wouldn't have to be a he...

Of course, you could always use this:

It was many and many a year ago,
In a kingdom by the sea,
That a maiden there lived whom you may know
By the name of Annabel Lee;
And this maiden she lived with no other thought
Than to love and be loved by me.

I was a child and she was a child,
In this kingdom by the sea;
But we loved with a love that was more than love -
I and my Annabel Lee;
With a love that the winged seraphs of heaven
Coveted her and me.

Exactly!

Is it too much to ask for another Poe to put words to my sketches on the internet?

Shouloung,you are such a pig! Is the Princess a red head?

Chapter Three:
Princess Judy preferred the company of another princess Betty instead of Betty's brother Fred, what was a princess to do?

That picture is sooo beautiful! I love watercolors.(It is watercolors, right?)
The princess leaned on her hand, her elbows on the windowsill, looking idlely at the beautiful scene around the castle. "This Princess gig isn't all its' cracked up to be" she thought to herself....

Yes, watercolors, ink and pencil. Love the tone of your first line, you know I'm a sucker for a funny story.

I think you should write the the story with Ella. It would be priceless to let your artwork inspire her story and vice-versa.
