Crafty Tough Girl

I’ve been running my own little derby sweat shop from the house for the last three days. We decided as a team to get together and sew up our own skirts and then we picked this skirt:

It’s not the hardest thing to sew, but we are making eighteen of them. Folks are coming again today to hopefully finish up the first part and then we’ll do final fittings tonight at practice before we finish all the hems and zippers. Instead of costing $39.95 it’s going to run each girl about $15.00 for material.

Zippers?? Look at you guys gettin' all high-tech. We voted for two pieces of fabric held together with some cord on the side ... and figured out pretty quickly we needed some elastic somewhere in there ... stat. Can't wait until the Slammers can take on the Dolls in uniform :)

Can't wait to see a pic of you ladies all dressed up. Wow, you volunteered your house as the sweatshop huh? Don't let Ella swallow any pins, or sew through her finger. (Pgymy child did the last when she was about Ella's age)

Skirts and rollerskates would not be a good combo for me with my sense of balance and coordination. I tried to take the boys ice skating a while back and wound up falling twice as soon as I got on the ice, scaring Dylann so much that he wouldn't even venture onto the rink. But the skirts are cute!
