So, I always thought the song went "Blinded by the light. Wrapped up like a douche in the middle of the night." and for over 30 years I wondered what the hell this all meant. Like did some emergency require this lady to require a major personal cleansing in the middle of the night and then she felt the need to wind like a gob of TP around the used portions and then perhaps some duct tape and finally a paper bag and twine before she threw it away? It must've been a very dramatic wrapping up for there to be a song about it. Ok, so I finally looked it up on the Internet today... Um yeah it's "Revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night."

i've actually heard conversations on the radio about what was being said. this was obviously before internet arrived on the scene.
but hey - i have a boat load of misunderstood lyrics in my bag to share with you. they're funny too!

you're right, that's exactly what it sounds like.
um, well there's that one song that came out in about 1982 - Key Largo - remember? i thought the lyrics were "bobby and mccall in key larDo" instead of bogie and bacall.
and then there was the sheena easton song where my dad thought the lyrics were "he takes me to a movie - 'to-rah-to-rah'" the man thought the name of the movie was to-rah-to-rah. the line is "to a restaurant".
there's a ton more but i can't think of them right now.
