Just Dandy

The First Dandelion
Simple and fresh and fair from winter's close emerging,
As if no artifice of fashion, business, politics, had ever been,
Forth from its sunny nook of shelter'd grass--innocent, golden, calm as the dawn,
The spring's first dandelion shows its trustful face.

Ella is getting so grown up. Was at a christening yesterday of my friend's little boy. He was born in December. Alex was jumping in the seat next to me dying to play with the children his own age. I looked at the baby who was having water poured over his head at the font and thought "ALEX ISN'T A BABY ANYMORE."

Alex like Ella is now three. People are going down the "When are you having your next one?" route. I keep thinking Alex is only a baby...I haven't recovered...life isn't back to normal. When I am ready for the next one Alex will be in college!
